THE OPPORTUNITY
Our client is an Australia’s leading personal injury claims manager, trusted by major insurers and regulators to support recovery and workplace safety nationwide. With over 3,700 professionals and a $142M investment in wellbeing initiatives, they help people return to work and improve safety across industries. As part of their ongoing digital transformation, they’re looking to hire a Full Stack Ruby on Rails Developer to help drive the development of secure and scalable internal platforms.
In this role, you’ll work across the full stack with a strong focus on Ruby on Rails, contributing to architectural decisions and backend systems. This is a foundation role aimed at expanding the engineering team and setting the stage for future technical growth. This is a hybrid role that requires onsite work in Manila every Monday and Tuesday, with working hours aligned to Australian business standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Develop and maintain software solutions using Ruby on Rails, .NET, and JavaScript frameworks like Angular or React.
- Participate in system architecture discussions and contribute to technical design decisions.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
- Continuously improve processes, tools, and development practices within the team.
- Take ownership of features from concept to deployment, including testing, debugging, and support.
- Collaborate with team members across locations, contributing to a transparent and communicative remote culture.
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATION
- 3+ years of professional experience with Ruby on Rails.
- Solid hands-on experience with jQuery, AJAX, HTML & CSS.
- Basic experience with .NET (C#) and Unit Testing Framework(xUnit,NUnit, MSTest) for backend service integration or legacy system support.
- Knowledge of Single Sign-On / Entra integration.
- Competence with REST APIs for various frontend and backend frameworks
- Working knowledge of Angular or React (at least one modern JS framework).
- Understanding of microservices architecture, and DevOps or CI/CD practices.
- Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, or similar containerization tools.
