Role Overview
We’re seeking a highly skilled Senior Ruby on Rails Developer with project management experience to lead and expand our development capabilities. You’ll oversee the planning and execution of software initiatives, build and manage a small development team, and work closely with a non-technical product team to transform ideas into clear programming-ready tasks. In addition, you’ll be directly involved in writing and reviewing code for our Rails 7 applications, ensuring high standards of quality, performance, and security.
Responsibilities
Build & Lead a Development Team: Recruit, mentor, and manage a small group of Rails developers. Establish and maintain coding standards, best practices, and workflows.
Translate Ideas into Action: Collaborate with the product team to capture requirements and turn them into actionable tasks. Help define priorities and technical approaches for new features and products.
Hands-On Development: Maintain, enhance, and optimize existing Rails 7 applications. Conduct code reviews to ensure high-quality, maintainable solutions.
Project Management: Create project timelines and drive sprints. Track progress, manage risks, and keep stakeholders informed of project status.
Requirements
5+ Years of Ruby on Rails Experience: Demonstrable track record in Rails programming and data development (Rails 7 experience preferred).
Team Management Experience: Comfortable leading small development teams, setting priorities, and delivering projects on time.
Remote Collaboration: Proven success working in a fully remote setting, with excellent communication and collaboration skills.
US Visa or Eligibility: Must already hold a valid U.S. visa or be eligible to obtain one. Our team members gather once a year in the U.S. for strategic planning and team-building.
